Zambia’s representative in Brazil dies

Zambia’s counsellor at the Brazilian Embassy Gerald Wakumelo is dead.
A statement from state house says Wakumelo died on 15th November, 2009 in a Brazilian Military Hospital after suffering from severe pneumonia.
In mourning Wakumelo, president Rupiah Banda said Wakumelo contributed greatly to the development of the nation in the Civil Service.
“This is the more reason I appointed him Counsellor at the Zambian Embassy in Brazil. His death is not just a loss to the family but to the entire nation,” President Banda said in a letter to the family of Wakumelo.
Wakumelo was a deputy Chief of Protocol in Lusaka before taking up his new appointment as Counsellor at the Zambian Embassy.
